Gunther continues to express his interest in a match with Brock Lesnar.
The WWE SmackDown star previously noted that he would gladly take the chance to face Lesnar. He has also said that he thinks Lesnar could be his end boss.
Speaking on the February 22 episode of WWE’s The Bump, the WWE Intercontinental Champion was asked about his showdown with Lesnar during the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble Match. “The Ring General” made it clear that the moment showed him that fans were interested in a clash between the two, and he has his sights set on the match.
“In that moment, let’s go. It was a super exciting moment for me, so obviously Brock is a competitor I was always impressed with,” Gunther said. “I think, I said it before, people call me the end boss in situations, but Brock might be my personal end boss. I think that moment we had was all I needed out of it right now. Basically real-life confirmation that the audience is up for that.
“Obviously my focus right now is on being the Intercontinental Champion, but going down the line, I think that’s something I really want to go for, being in the ring with Brock one-on-one.”

Gunther was also asked about his remarkable performance in the Royal Rumble match, where he set the record for the longest time spent in the battle royal. He stated that he was proud of it, and he credited his Imperium stablemates Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser for their help in the preparation for the match.
“With a little bit of distance with something like that, you can let it sink in a little bit,” Gunther said. “That’s definitely an accomplishment I’m very proud of. I’m always the happiest when I get my time in the ring and I can just do what I do best and live it out, what I wanted to do. I had the opportunity there. I’m really proud of that.”
Omos challenged Lesnar to a match at WWE WrestleMania 39 on the February 20 episode of WWE RAW, and “The Beast Incarnate” is expected to give his answer on the February 27 episode of RAW.
