Bully Ray thinks a potential return for former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon should happen in the ring.
McMahon retired from WWE amid allegations of paying hush money to suppress sexual misconduct on July 22, 2022. A recent report from Joe Palazzolo and Ted Mann of The Wall Street Journal suggested that McMahon intends on making a comeback to WWE, as he is of the mindset that he was given bad advice ahead of his decision to step down last summer.
Speaking with Bill Apter for WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda, Ray was asked to complete the sentence, “If Vince McMahon returns to WWE….” He responded by stating that it’d be business as usual. When Apter pitched the idea of McMahon returning as part of the Royal Rumble match, Ray stated that, if it was up to him, he’d bring the former chairman back in an in-ring role.
“It’ll be business as usual.,” Ray said. “[He’d come back] at Number 30? ‘No Chance in Hell’? If they brought him back, I’d bring him back in-ring.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Ray praised The Usos, the reigning Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, though he noted that he wished they had more teams to work with. He also claimed that he and D-Von Dudley, collectively known as The Dudley Boyz, would certainly defeat the champions if they faced off.
“I’ll try to give you one from today, The Usos. I wish there were more teams to work with The Usos so they could get even better. 3-D through a table, one, two, three,” Ray said when asked about a potential match between the two.”
Fightful reported in November that McMahon is not expected to return to WWE.
Meanwhile, Ray is gearing up for a major title match; he will challenge Josh Alexander for the IMPACT World Championship in a Full Metal Mayhem Match at IMPACT Hard To Kill on January 13.
