Vince McMahon Facing New Legal Demands From Women Alleging Sexual Abuse

Despite new sexual lawsuits against him coming to light, Vince McMahon is reportedly determined to return to WWE in the future.

According to Joe Palazzolo and Ted Mann of The Wall Street Journal, internal documents point toward Vince McMahon facing legal demands from two women alleging sexual assault from him. The two lawsuits come from former WWE referee Rita Chatterton and an unnamed client from an incident in a spa at a California resort in 2011. Chatterton is asking for $11.75 million in damages in relation to the alleged assault in 1986. Chatterton’s lawyer claims that damages from the alleged incident included years of depression, substance abuse, lost income and a decreased quality of life. The spa manager reported the incident at the time it allegedly occurred in 2011, and her lawyer has been in contact with McDevitt since July.

These lawsuits are currently being handled by McMahon’s long-time attorney Jerry McDevitt. People close to McMahon have told The Wall Street Journal that he refuses to pay settlements to either woman. McMahon has denied the allegations made against him.

Amidst these accusations, The Journal also reports that Vince McMahon intends on making a comeback to WWE as he believes he was given bad advice by people over the summer who recommended that he step down from his position within the company. With the belief that had he stayed, things would have eventually blown over.

Earlier this year, McMahon was under investigation for a secret “hush pact” related to an alleged affair with several women. McMahon made the decision to voluntarily step back from his responsibilities during the investigation and later announced his retirement from WWE on July 22. WWE announced the investigation had concluded, but McMahon remained “a stockholder with a controlling interest” in the company.

In November, Fightful reported that McMahon is not expected to return to the company, with several sources claiming it would be a huge step back for the company.

The timing of this article comes at a great time for Vice TV as they are airing their two-hour documentary titled “The 9 Lives of Vince McMahon” tonight at 9 PM EST. You can bet this report will lead to even more viewership for this special than there would have been previously. You can check out a clip from this documentary right now by clicking here.
