Thunder Rosa Can’t Get Anxious About Landscape Of AEW Locker Room When She Returns

Thunder Rosa is ready to tackle everything once she’s cleared to return to AEW.

Speaking on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Thunder Rosa was asked if she’s concerned about returning to the AEW locker room due to the ongoing drama that’s played out in recent months. The AEW star has been sidelined since August with a back injury and plenty has unfolded since then, but she says it’s not something she can worry about.

“I cannot get anxious about because I don’t have no control over it. I can only work on what I can for myself so I can be ready when I come back for anything. That’s what I’m working on, to be completely honest. I’m working on getting physically and mentally ready to come bask to whatever it is that this new landscape looks like, and just be ready to tackle everything, X, Y, and Z.”

Thunder Rosa is still recognized as the reigning AEW Women’s Champion, but she has not defended the title since beating Jamie Hayter at Battle Of The Belts III on August 5. She has had one other match since then on AEW Elevation, but doesn’t have a timetable for her return. Rosa noted that she’s following doctor’s order to try and avoid surgery.

“Because once you have surgery, recovery’s gonna be longer. Things are not gonna be the same. Reinjury is pretty high, and you’re gonna have to [inaudible]. It really pissed me off because it’s like, no, it shouldn’t be that way. I want to do this and I want to do that. On top of everything that is happening with the injury, you just have to accept that you have to take a step back and let your body heal.”

Thunder Rosa said she recently resumed running; read more about her physical and mental health at this link.
