Chris Jericho: There Was A Locker Room Fight, Sometimes Guys Have To Leave

Chris Jericho says that when locker room fights happen, sometimes guys have to leave in order for the problem to be solved.

After AEW All Out, CM Punk and Ace Steel allegedly got into a physical confrontation with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson). Everyone involved with the fight was subsequently suspended, and they have yet to appear on AEW TV, though the company has been teasing the return of The Elite.

During an appearance on Howie Mandel Does Stuff, dealing with real-life feuds came up in the conversation, and Jericho noted that in these cases, one can either make it work and do your job or leave the project.

“It happens. Sure it does,” Jericho said. “But the thing is though, once again, it’s like if you’re cast in a movie and you hate your co-star, either you make it work, do your job, put on a great performance and never talk to each other again, or you leave the project. It’s that simple. So if there are people that you have a problem with, which I’ve had over the years, not a lot, but there’s, ‘Oh this guy rubs me the wrong way. He’s an asshole,’ whatever. You still gotta put on a good show.

The veteran also noted that sometimes, fights happen in the locker room, and some guys can have attitude problems. He noted that, when these situations come up, sometimes these individuals have to leave.

“Sometimes you have fights in the locker room and that sort of thing,” Jericho said. “It’s a big team, and sometimes guys get in fights, and sometimes guys just have the wrong attitude for how to make the team work. So I mean that’s how you have to look at it. Sometimes guys have to leave. It’s just the way it is.”

When “Brawl Out”, the aforementioned locker room fight that reportedly occurred after AEW All Out, came up, Jericho acknowledged it and stated that, to deal with it, sometimes guys have to not be there anymore.

“There was a locker room fight that happened a couple months ago between a couple guys,” Jericho said. “Like I said, when these things happen, you have to deal with them. Sometimes the way to deal with it is guys just have to not be there anymore.”

When one of the hosts wondered if AEW cancelled shows due to the suspension, Jericho responded, “Not cancel the shows, but guys were suspended and that sort of thing.”

Fightful Select previously reported that Jericho told Punk he was a cancer to the locker room after the fight.
