It sounds like Chris Jericho told CM Punk exactly what he thought after the now-infamous post-show brawl at All Out.
According to a new report from Fightful (via Fightful Select), Chris Jericho approached CM Punk after his backstage incident with The Elite and had some choice words for him. Jericho took issue with CM Punk’s scrum and the fight, and reportedly told Punk that he was “a cancer to the locker room and a detriment to the company.”
It was noted that several sources couldn’t recall Punk’s exact reply, but it was along the lines of Punk telling Jericho it wasn’t his business and needed to leave. Chris Jericho and AEW did not reply to a request for comment on this story, but it was noted that some close to CM Punk did confirm the interaction with Jericho did take place.
According to a recent report from F4WOnline.com‘s Dave Meltzer, CM Punk and AEW are in talks to buy out the remaining years of his contract. Meltzer also noted that neither Punk nor AEW “commented on, or denied” the story, and one hold-up was related to the non-compete terms of the buyout.
Jericho has been praised for how he stepped up as a leader for the company after the incident. Jericho recently signed a three-year contract extension that will see him as an in-ring talent, as well as a producer and creative advisor for AEW.
