WWE SmackDown Results (October 28, 2022): Jey’s Not Feeling Ucey, Bray Wyatt Meets Uncle Howdy

WWE SmackDown Results – October 28, 2022

SmackDown kicked off with a tag team match as Butch and Ridge Holland of The Brawling Brutes take on Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa of The Bloodline. Prior to the match, Sami Zayn speaks to Jey Uso and informs him that it’s all hands are on deck tonight.

Zayn said that Reigns hasn’t arrived yet, and when he does, he needs to see that The Bloodline was victorious. The Honorary Uce went on to admit that he saw Jey assist him in defeating Kofi Kingston last week, and Jey seemingly agreed to help in tonight’s tag match.

The Brawling Brutes defeated The Bloodline

  • Sami Zayn and Jey Uso once again had issues during the match and argued outside of the ring. This distraction led to Butch playing possum and catching Zayn with a small package to score the pinfall win for his team.

Following the matchup, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso continued to argue in the ring, but before anything could happen, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman arrive. The Tribal Chief’s entrance takes too long, and SmackDown goes to a commercial break before he arrives in the ring.

SmackDown returns with Roman Reigns in the ring with the rest of The Bloodline. Paul Heyman hands Reigns the microphone, and The Tribal Chief asks St. Louis to acknowledge him. Reigns said he was there to acknowledge the elephant in the room. He said if Jey Uso and Sami Zayn want to act like kids, he’s going to treat them like kids.

Reigns said they aren’t gonna handle these problems in the back and they are gonna handle it right now in the ring. Sami Zayn says there have been communication issues with Jey lately, and he doesn’t understand why. Zayn says he and Jey had no issues until he started hanging out with The Bloodline, and he doesn’t know why. Zayn says whatever he did wrong, he’s sorry, and asks Jey to bury the hatchet with him.

Jey responds by telling Zayn he has two seconds to get out of his face. He admits he doesn’t like him, or his hair, or his face. He doesn’t like his shirt either. Jey says he doesn’t like Zayn hanging out with his family. He said you can’t be part of The Bloodline if you’re not blood. He says Zayn doesn’t belong here. Jey says no one in the group likes him, and he’s the only one that has the guts to tell him so.

Zayn said he doesn’t understand why he’s yelling at him and that Roman Reigns wants peace. Jey responded by saying he doesn’t give a damn what The Tribal Chief wants. This sets off Reigns, who begins to slowly circle Jey. Zayn once again steps in and tries to defend Jey and said he hasn’t been very Ucey lately.

This caught Reigns off-guard, and he started to laugh. Reigns asked Jey if he’s not feeling Ucey. The Tribal Chief tells Jey if he can’t find his “Inner Ucey” again, he’s going to do something he’s not gonna like. Reigns said he will take the “honorary” title away from Sami Zayn and just make him a full-blown Uce.

Reigns said he might go all the way and rename him Sami Uso, which gets a “Sami Uso” chant from the crowd. Paul Heyman declares this to be the end of the segment, and he hypes up Reigns’ match with Logan Paul next Saturday at WWE Crown Jewel.

There is another vignette for The Viking Raiders and Sarah Logan teasing their return to WWE SmackDown soon.

Bray Wyatt’s logo is seen on a nearby crate where the two women were brawling, and the show goes to a commercial break.

SmackDown returns with Braun Strowman backstage cutting a promo on Omos and hyping up their match next weekend at Crown Jewel. Ronda Rousey’s open challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship is up next.

Ronda Rousey took the microphone and said that the championship is back where it belongs and said she wants to prove it tonight with her open challenge. Rousey goes on to heel the crowd and says that only great can recognize greatness and that the WWE Universe is too mediocre to know what they’re looking at. The open challenge is answered by a returning Emma. SmackDown takes a commercial break.

  • The Usos defend the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles against The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland and Butch)

In the back, Jey Uso and Paul Heyman spoke in front of Roman Reigns’ locker room. Heyman told Jey that he would talk to The Tribal Chief for him. Jey walked away and left Heyman standing there looking stressed out. The six-man tag team match between Hit Row and Legado del Fantasma is up next.

SmackDown returns, and Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler are talking backstage, Natalya interrupts, and Baszler choked her out for running her mouth. It appears that Rousey and Baszler will be a duo on SmackDown going forward.

Back at ringside, Hit Row introduces their tag team partner for the night, former Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Hit Row and Nakamura brawl with Legado before the match begins, which ends with Hit Row and Nakamura standing tall as SmackDown takes another commercial break.

Heyman tries to warn him about his punching power, but The Tribal Chief doesn’t want to hear it by reminding Heyman that it’s Paul’s third match. Heyman pointed out that Brock Lesnar won the UFC title in his third fight. Roman didn’t appreciate Heyman bringing up Lesnar. The Wise Man backs down and said he’ll go make sure Reigns’ jet is ready as we leave The Head of the Table alone with his thoughts.

Kayla Braxton is backstage with LA Knight, and they’re interrupted by Ricochet, who says Knight might get a warmer welcome if he didn’t act like he is God’s gift to SmackDown. Knight acknowledges that he is God’s gift to SmackDown before walking off. Ricochet commented that someone was going to have to shut him up, implying that it would be him.

Karrion Kross defeated Madcap Moss

  • Karrion Kross secures the pinfall victory over Madcap Moss with the club to the back of the neck. Kross puts the Crossjacket on Moss after the match and cuts a promo on McIntyre as he does. The referees couldn’t pry Kross off Moss, but Scarlett eventually tells him to let go, and he does.

We see Bray Wyatt pacing backstage as WWE SmackDown takes its final commercial break of the evening.

Kayla Braxton interviews Rey Mysterio backstage as he will be competing against GUNTHER next week for the Intercontinental Championship on WWE SmackDown. Before the interview could really get underway he’s attacked and left lying by all three members of Imperium.

Bray Wyatt comes out to the ring to close the show. He says this is still pretty new to him but says he can get used to it, seemingly referring to the positive reaction from the WWE Universe, who chant “welcome back” at him. Wyatt says when they do that, it makes him feel like he needs to do something wild.

Wyatt says he’s not hiding behind a mask, and this is Bray Wyatt the real man. He says this is the best version of him that there will ever be, and he’s going to do some spectacular things while he’s here. Wyatt said for the majority of his life, he’s been completely out of control, and he can’t help it. He says his emotions don’t work like a normal human and sometimes they send him to a very dark place.

He admits that he’s done some horrible things in the past, and he’s not afraid to do them. He says he knows in the future, the time will come when he’ll be asked to do something terrible.

Wyatt is cut off by seemingly another version of himself on the Tron, who confirms his name is Uncle Howdy. There is a QR code flashed in the midst of the promo as WWE SmackDown comes to a close.
