Following the shocking appearance of The Great Muta at AEW Rampage: Grand Slam, it was announced that Sting would be returning to Japan to appear in The Great Muta‘s final match.
Sting, who has a long history with The Great Muta, was joined by his friend during Friday’s episode of AEW Rampage, in what Sting later revealed as the final appearance in America for the legendary Japanese superstar. Shortly after that, Pro Wrestling NOAH announced that Sting would be returning to Japan to appear at The Great Muta’s Final “Bye-Bye” event, which is set to take place on January 23, 2023, at the Yokohama Arena.
While it’s unclear whether or not Sting and Muta will team up or if “The Icon” will simply be on hand for the night, but fans looking to attend will at least be treated to the AEW superstar in some form or another.
