A legend surprisingly appeared at AEW Rampage: Grand Slam.
On September 23, AEW held the second night of its “Grand Slam” event, and the show opened with a No Disqualification match, where Darby Allin and Sting took on the House of Black. The two sides have been feuding for several weeks, and the No Disqualification promised to produce even more violence.

In the closing minutes, The Great Muta shockingly made his way to the ring. Initially, it seemed like he was going to attack Sting, but the legend turned on Matthews and spit green mist in his face. Sting then dropped Matthews with a Scorpion Death Drop and pinned him for the win. “The Icon” proceeded to celebrate with Muta after the match.
Muta has held titles in every major Japanese promotion; he is a four-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion. He is also a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, among many other accolades. He previously feuded with Sting, and they clashed at WCW/New Japan Supershow I. They also teamed up to defeat the Steiner Brothers at WCW/New Japan Supershow II.
