EC3 says The Narrative will need to be retooled a little bit.
During a recent interview with Steve Fall for NBC Sports Boston, EC3 spoke about the original idea for Control Your Narrative and revealed that a third installment of his “Free The Narrative” is on its way. Matt Cardona and Adam Scherr (Braun Strowman) were the subjects of the first two features, and he revealed that the third will be arriving next month.
EC3 also spoke about how Karrion Kross and Braun Strowman’s respective returns to WWE impacted plans for Control Your Narrative. The two were focal points for the burgeoning promotion’s upcoming tour, but now CYN is being forced to reconfigure things a bit.
“No, and we’re dealing with the ramifications now. When you lose a top-level name and a draw, the business does have to be evaluated, especially from an outside perspective of who’s — like our tour, that will not go on as planned. I tried to salvage an opportunity for some of these dates to maintain, but as is, it was booked based on that availability which is no longer there. And that’s OK, because again, small infrastructure, is that what we are? A traveling promotion? We could be, are we ready to be? I don’t know.
“And then not allowing the legs to be kicked out from underneath, realizing that this needs to be — we can have that, that’s a luxury — but we need to build a foundation of what that is. And that’s new, youthful, different, undiscovered or reinventing that we would never expect.”
EC3 then shared that Kross will still be part of Free The Narrative III and hopes it’s the proper sendoff that he deserves.
So, I do feel bad that Kross didn’t get some giant thing like I wrote for Adam because I’m so fond of his effort and respect, all that. I did not do that, but Adam was more on the business end than Kross was initially. Even if we were [equal owners in CYN] — we should have been, we’re not, but it’s ok — I do feel bad not giving him [that same sendoff]. What we do give him is, if hopefully, it’s able to maintain, Killer Kross in ‘Free The Narrative 3’ with our narration and our storytelling over what he did, it’s quite a fond ‘I’ll miss you, dude. I love you, man’ sort of sendoff. I’m very proud of doing that for him.”
