Reported Details About AEW Talent Meeting Before 9/7 AEW Dynamite

Some of AEW‘s top stars reportedly held a talent meeting ahead of the AEW Dynamite taping on September 7.

In the days leading into the show, AEW was surrounded by controversy in the aftermath of a reported altercation involving CM Punk, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega after AEW All Out on September 4. Punk took several shots at the trio during the post-show media scrum, which evidently prompted a confrontation between the two sides. Both sides were reportedly suspended, and AEW president Tony Khan vacated their respective titles, the AEW World Championship and the World Trios Champion.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reports that Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson led a talent meeting on Wednesday. While specific details are unclear, several of the talent in attendance noted that it went well. Sapp cited one source who stated that the trio were the right people to lead the meeting and have it resonate. Sources noted that the talent were encouraged to handle their personal matters with each other “in-house” rather than having leaks get out. This message had also been emphasis at prebious talent meetings and through other forms of contact, such as an email.

Sources praised Moxley, Jericho, and Danielson, with Jericho particularly being highlighted for his leadership. Moxley also got credit for a number of reasons, including coming to work though hr was supposed to have some time off. As for Danielson, is friendly, funny demeanor was said to be “calming.”

Overall, after AEW Dynamite, the general tone seems substantially more positive than it did before the show. One source also stated that AEW has plenty of great people that talent can go to advice for or “take direction from” when necessary.
