Thunder Rosa Breaks Bread With Marina Shafir

Thunder Rosa is taking responsibility and moving forward.

Earlier this week, Thunder Rosa was accused of “sandbagging” Marina Shafir in their AEW Women’s Championship match on the June 8 episode of Dynamite. According to some fans, they felt that the champion was “sandbagging” and “no selling” Shafir in the match.

Thunder Rosa denied the allegations during an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, and said she has nothing but respect for her opponents.

“No,” said Rosa. “And I’m gonna say it like I would say it in the New York Post. I have nothing but respect for my opponents. Nothing but respect for my opponents. Anyone that dares stand in the ring with me, I have nothing but respect for my opponents. And I send them nothing but blessings. Moving on forward, I will continue to work harder to have the best matches I can bring and to bring the most opportunities for all the women that are behind me. So when they step in the ring with me, they’re like, ‘Okay cool.’

Now taking to Twitter after Wednesday’s Dynamite tapings in St. Louis, Thunder Rosa shared a photo of herself and Shafir breaking bread along with the following caption:

“Today day we take responsibility and work on being better. Because at the end of the day we break bread. Two mothers navigating a world in where we both never ending learners,” she wrote.

Thunder Rosa is auctioning off her Double Or Nothing ring gear to benefit the Uvalde school shooting victims and she had some help from Pawn Stars star Rick Harrison to get things started. Read more details about the auction at this link.
