The Hype Bros vs. The Usos
If the Hype Bros win they’ll get a Smackdown Tag Team title shot
Ryder started things off taking down Jimmy with quick arm drags and tagged in his parter, who ran through both of the champions with running shoulder tackles. Jay tagged in and got thrown to the outside as Ryder flew between the ropes to take him out. He got held up coming back into the ring by Jimmy, went after him but ran into a big enzuigiri from his brother to change the pace of the match as we go to commercial. During the break the champions worked over Zack keeping him isolated, and he fell to a top rope splash very shortly after. // Winners: The Usos
– The New Day made their way out as the Usos celebrated their quick victory. Xavier Woods said they were proud of them for actually winning a match without running away. The Usos traded insults, saying they already beat them at Money in the Bank and they’ll be happy to accept their little challenge for Battleground because they’ll beat them again and prove that it’s not about the New Day again. They turn to leave but Xavier stops them and says the Usos may have bars, but all they do is spit hot fire. Kofi Kingston takes the mic and does a little freestyle, basically just to call them booty.
– We are backstage for the “Interrogation” of the Ascension by the Fashion Police. Fandango shows them a sketch he made of the perps, which is literally just two stick figures and Connor says it’s not them. Dango says he believes them, but offers them two Eddie Money tickets if they’re willing to spill. Viktor wants to take the tickets, but Connor says they only listen to hardcore thrash metal. Breeze puts his water guns on the table to try to intimidate them, but they hear a crash from another room and go to investigate. The Fashion Police find their office trashed once again, and said this mystery now has more layers than Heather Locklear’s hair. They pan over to the Ascension who are eating a cheese plate, and slowly take the tickets when no one is watching.
