Tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw another set of qualifying matches for the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view take place. In one, Baron Corbin was able to take down Rey Mysterio to earn his spot, and in another, Seth Rollins advanced past Otis thanks to some help from a former disciple.
In a match between Corbin and Mysterio, it was Rollins who caused a distraction late. Late in the match, Rollins came running down to attack Dominik, causing Rey to leave the ring and save his son. Murphy and Aalyah came running down to the ring after that, and Rey got distracted, telling them both to leave before getting back into the ring and walking right into an End of Days by Corbin.
During Rollins’ match against Otis, it was Murphy’s time to help him, as the former disciple came down to the ring late and distracted Otis, leading to Rollins delivering a brutal kick to the head for the win. After the match, Murphy seemingly returned to Rollins’ side, but seems to have some other plans for why he helped Rollins. Either way, Rollins and Corbin will join Kevin Owens and Jey Uso on SmackDown’s team at Survivor Series, which will no doubt be a tenuous team when they take to the ring at the pay-per-view.
