Jey Uso On His Match At WWE Hell In A Cell: This Is Bigger Than The Universal Title

Jey Uso appeared on a WWE Hell in a Cell preview edition of WWE’s The Bump. On the show, he discussed his WWE Universal Championship match with Roman Reigns. Here are some highlights:

On how his match at WWE Hell in a Cell is different than his opportunity at WWE Clash of Champions:

Uso: “I got the jitters out of the way at Clash of Champions. I got it all out the way. It was the biggest lead up, man. I was nervous as hell. I was all the above. I got it out the way, and now we [are] going in Hell in a Cell. I’m 1-0 in Hell in a Cell. I’m 1-0, and I’m trying to go undefeated.”

“Right now, Uce, it ain’t even about the damn Universal Championship, Uce. This is way deeper. He scratched a real nerve in me, Uce. He didn’t scratch no Jey Uso nerve. He scratched a Josh Fatu nerve. And later on tonight, man, we ready to go to war, Uce. I never quit, I never will.”

On Roman’s demand to be acknowledged as the Tribal Chief:

Uso: “Yeah, man, he come off as just this arrogant homey. Alright bro, we know you the Big Dog, Uce, we know you ain’t got nothing to prove to nobody. But I guess he do, Uce, and I guess it’s all because little old me won’t acknowledge this homey as being the number one in the family, being at the head of the table, being the tribal chief.”

On his last words before the show:

Uso: “I know I ain’t supposed to be here, bro. There’s so many negative people out there, just in my ear and in the beginning, it got to me a little, Uce. But the more I silenced it and focused on what was real in front of me, the reality is, Uce, I’m doing good right now. And I am standing across from [Roman] for the Universal championship, it ain’t no one else. No one would have ever picked me versus Uce at Clash of Champions, or me versus Uce right now in Hell in a Cell. But I need everyone to know, man, I know I got my a– beat at Clash of Champions in front of the whole world. But guess what Uce? I know I’m gonna get my a– beat again. But I’m man enough to damn step it and face it, bro, because this is what I need to do to get on the other side.”
