Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that Tribune Media is no longer going through with Sinclair Broadcasting’s bid of purchasing the company and is instead filing a lawsuit against Sinclair for breach of contract. Details of the lawsuit are to be revealed by Tribune later today.

Sinclair Broadcasting owns the rights to ROH, and if the purchase were to have gone through, it would have opened up Sinclair programming to be aired in major markets like New York City & Los Angeles. Tribune also runs stations in wrestling towns like Chicago, Philadelphia, Greensboro, Kansas City and St. Louis. In addition, Tribune operates WGN America which could have opened up big opportunities for Ring of Honor.
