Following Adonis’ apology, Rev Pro issued the following statement:

We would like to take this opportunity to address the action of Sam Adonis last night.

Whilst no one instructed Adonis to say those words it took place on our show and for that we have to apologize. We are proud of not just the British wrestling scene but the British Wrestling COMMUNITY that has been a huge part in our nation becoming a focal point of the entire wrestling world. Quite simply that community extends beyond the locker room and into the crowd.

Alongside many other like-minded professional wrestling companies we are proud to embrace all cultures, races, [sexes] and sexualities. We want everyone to feel safe & comfortable and be able to take for granted the fact that no matter what problems may be affectinig you on the outside world, for those hours you are with us you are able to suspend your disbelief, forget about all your troubles and have a great time. The fact that this wasn’t possible for a brief moment last night breaks our heart.

We believe that Adonis, who has made a career of being a controversial, Trump flag-waving character in Mexico misjudged the situation, had no malicious intent in his words and do not reflect the views of himself as a person. There is an argument between separating fiction from reality, however we also believe that as the line gets blurred we need to make it perfectly clear that this type of language is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Sam Adonis was factored in as a big part of our ‘Summer of Indpendence’ however we have rescinded those dates and his segment from last night’s show will not be appearing on RPW On Demand. We will also be putting procedures in place to ensure that something like this never happens again.

In closing we would ask that rather than using this as a chance to attack another human being, let’s recognize that everyone makes mistakes and use this as an opportunity to focus on the real issues, to educate & help people understand why this type of behavior is unacceptable in any environment and do our bit in helping eradicate this type of language from society.
