The dark main event after SmackDown and 205 Live tapings saw a non-title match between WWE Champion AJ Styles and US Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. The match ended with Styles hitting Nakamura with the Styles Clash to pick up the win.
Styles didn’t appear on last night’s episode of SmackDown Live where he was called a bad father by his SummerSlam opponent Samoa Joe. Nakamura briefly appeared on SmackDown, hitting Jeff Hardy with a Kinshasa.
