Charlotte Flair Returns On Smackdown Live, Paige Announces Singles Match With Summerslam Implications

Charlotte Flair made her return on tonight’s episode of WWE Smackdown Live, saving Becky Lynch from an attack by Carmella.

Carmella and Becky opened tonight’s show in the ring, and Carmella appeared to show genuine feelings when cutting a promo about WWE Evolution. She talked about proving people wrong when they thought she was nothing more than a hype girl, and thanked Becky for helping her in the past and wished her luck. Carmella then showed her true colors as James Ellsworth’s music cued up, and Carmella attacked Becky from behind.

Charlotte immediately ran out to help her friend Lynch, dropping Carmella with a suplex and checking on Becky as Carmella ran away. Following the break, Carmella complained to Paige about what happened, and took a dig at the Smackdown GM for being retired. Paige then booked a match between Carmella and Charlotte for tonight, and Charlotte will be added to the Women’s Championship match at Summerslam if she wins.
