Elias Says Calls Out The Rock, Says He’s Welcome To Walk With Elias Anytime He Wants, Says Chris Jericho Tried Stealing His Act

Elias recently spoke with Complex; you can read a few transcribed highlights (credit to Bill Pritchard for Wrestlezone.com) and watch the full interview below:

Elias talks about creating his EP by himself:

No features. This is 100% Elias, OK? This is written by Elias, performed by Elias; I’m up there on a stool by myself. It’s what everyone in the world sees, and frankly, it’s what everyone in the world wants.

Elias talks about performing with Baron Corbin on RAW:

I wanted to help the guy out a little bit. He comes to me backstage and sees how much fun I’m having out there, and wants to be a part of it. He’s not the best audibly—I’ll put it that way—but he made up for it with his heart. He wanted to sing a little lullaby, I said ‘that’s fine, man, I’ll help you out.’ He came out, we had a good time, we beat up Bobby [Roode] and Finn [Balor], so it all worked out.

Where does Elias rank himself musically in WWE history?

Let me set the record straight—if you’re referencing Honky Tonk Man,  or Jeff Jarrett—none of them played guitar. They just walked around with some kind of prop. The Rock, sure, he showed up and did a song or two here and there, maybe a half dozen times in his life, but he never did what I do. Which like I said, I’m on [RAW] every single week.  Millions of people every week, tens of thousands of people in person, Rock cannot do what I can. People have thrown out these ideas of a challenge, or some sort of sing-off or a guitar-off—Rock, if you’re out there and you hear this, you’re welcome to come Walk With Elias whenever you want. The offer is out there, I’d like to put all of the speculation to rest at who’s better. Let me put you in your place; come on out, Walk With Elias. I’ll show you how it’s done.

Elias says he’s sick of Chris Jericho and his huge ego:

To be honest with you, I’m sick of Chris Jericho. I’ve had enough of Chris Jericho; I’ve seen him on my TV far too often. I’m the guy that plays my guitar and sings on Monday Night RAW. He shows up and tries to steal my act? It was OK for a quick laugh or something like that, but on a personal level the guy’s personality rubs me the wrong way, his ego is just totally out of control—unfounded—and I can’t stand people whose egos are undeserved.
