The Undertaker will be returning to the legendary Madison Square Garden for the WWE Live Event dubbed “SummerSlam Heatwave Tour” this evening (July 7) in New York City. The Deadman will be teaming up with Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman in a three-man tag team match against Elias, Baron Corbin, and Kevin Owens.
Elias talked to The New York Post ahead of his match at MSG. Here are some highlights from the interview:
Elias on his reaction when he found out about the match:
“I said, “That is the perfect matchup.” I would have preferred if it was one-on-one, but that would probably happen somewhere down the line. This will be the first-ever meeting of The Deadman and The Living Truth.”
On if it can be considered cool taking a tombstone from The Undertaker:
“Yeah, that’s always something you can say down the line, but I think it will be more noteworthy to say, “You know what, I sold out Madison Garden and I sang a song that insulted The Undertaker right before he came out.”
On his first appearance at MSG last December:
“Well, Madison Square Garden is a historical venue and it’s especially important to WWE, so for me to fill up there and sell it out the first time I’m there was incredibly special. And it was really just the start of everybody finding out that WWE stands for Walk with Elias.”
