Matt Cappotelli Inspired Faith In Fellow Wrestler

Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Austin Kellerman has written a touching article about the late Matt Cappotelli and the way in which he inspired faith in trainee Dalton Moss. Moss was a 28 year old Christian father of three when he entered OVW’s beginner’s program and wasn’t sure he’d fit in until meeting his trainer Matt Cappotelli. Cappotelli helped Moss find his place as both a wrestler and a Christian.

According to Moss,

“He never yelled, never got upset. Matt never seemed to let anything bother him.”

Cappotelli’s positive demeanor moved Moss as he credits Cappotelli with inspiring him to become a Christian deacon. Moss stated,

“Professional wrestling can be a very lewd, vulgar, and hard business. You don’t have to participate in things, but you’ll see and hear things everywhere you go that may not sit well with you. Matt understood that.”

After Cappotelli passed away, Moss wrote,

“Glad you finally get to go home. Tell Jesus hello for me.”
