Brock Lesnar has been gone long enough for fans to stop caring.
Roman Reigns still isn’t over as a baby face.
Braun Strowman has been exciting, but if he is going to get a run as a babyface then we have to have a reason to root for him. It is hard to have sympathy for a wrestler who is built like three houses and has a catch phrase we all enjoy.
WWE is lacking a babyface story that can carry the final match of the night at the Showcase of the Immortals.
WrestleMania is designed to reign in the casual fan, the fan that only watches professional wrestling once a year – as the Super Bowl is to the NFL, WrestleMania is to WWE.
I believe that WWE as a company, in 2018, has assembled the best collection of professional wrestlers in its history. However, WWE lacks consistency in character development to the point that a lot of these incredible matches, with which we are spoiled, tend to look the same night in and night out.
If I asked a casual fan in 2018 to give me the first name that comes to mind when they think WWE, I would be interested to see who from the current roster they can name.
WWE is the draw now, not the professional wrestlers… enter Ronda Rousey.
In this column I will attempt to explain why Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair for the WWE Women’s Championship needs to close out WrestleMania 35.
