WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella is enjoying her role as a heel champion for the blue brand.
Speaking to Telegram, ‘The Princess of Staten Island’ described how her villainous character is different than her real life personality, but she loves her role of being a trash-talking champion:
“Carmella is the moon-walking, trash-talking Princess of Staten Island,” said Carmella. “She’s not afraid to speak what’s on her mind. She’s very, very full of herself. I love it. I love to be talky and tell everyone how good I am. I can kind of relate to that just a little bit. In everyday life it’s not something I would normally do, but there’s a little bit of the real Carmella inside of Carmella,” she later added.
Carmella became champion after cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Charlotte Flair on the April 10 episode of SmackDown. She is set to defend her title against Asuka at the Money in the Bank PPV on June 17th.
