Lilian Garcia just released the very last episode of Chasing Glory on Podcast One. The show will resume; but, on another format to be announced later. Visit LilianGarcia.com for more updates.
Garcia used the last episode of her Podcast One show to share some deeply personal details:
On her recent health struggles due to black mold:
“I went to Thailand for a month. All of a sudden my voice was clear as a day. I can sing. I can do whatever I want. It is amazing. It was so fun to sing in Thailand..in my hotel room. I came back from Thailand and I wake up the next day and my throat is killing me, same thing with my husband. Why did I come back from Thailand and all of a sudden I go to sleep in my house and I wake up and I can’t again? We decided we’re going to get the house tested. Maybe there’s mold in the house. We decided to get the house tested and guess what? There’s mold in the house. We’ve been in the house two years and the timing is there from when I started losing part of my voice. Now we are living somewhere else. We had to move-just temporary. It’s a process.”
On struggles in her marriage:
“With my husband it has been an amazing relationship and at times a challenging relationship. When I say that – I love this man so much – we realized we had a communication issue where we realized that we were taking things as far as the way we were brought up or what we’ve seen or what we’ve seen others do or whatever and you kinda take those people that are so close to you for granted that any frustration it was kinda like I was frustrated and would be angry and not so nice to him. He and I worked through this and had an epiphany and an amazing summer of working hard through it. We can really communicate so much better and get through. We realized it was just our habits. I’ve apologized from my side of things, for the way I spoke to him. Sometimes he’d say something to me and I’d take it wrong and immediately get defensive and that’s not fair. It’s not fair to him at all so I’ve worked through that with my husband and he has for me too. I don’t take him for granted at all. Now if there’s an issue we communicate and we talk.”
On a possible return to WWE:
“I love to travel; but, balance. There is no balance with the WWE. You’re on the road 52 weeks a year. There is no offseason. This isn’t baseball: 300 nights a year and you’re traveling from city to city. You’re driving yourself. You’re not in a nice bus being driven or in a limo or anything like that. It does wear on you. Until you guys are in those shoes you don’t see it. Never say never; but, I feel like I’m still there in some capacity.”
