Exclusive: Impact Wrestling’s Kiera Hogan On Major Issues With Tessa Blanchard, The Return Of Madison Rayne, Being A Person Of Color In Wrestling, More

On Tessa Blanchard’s attack last week and why Blanchard has targeted her:

KH: I actually don’t know what Tessa’s issue is with me. Tessa probably thinks that because I am the new girl and am just so excited to be here she can take advantage of me. Tessa doesn’t understand that this is what I have always wanted to do. There is nothing else in this world that I ever wanted besides being a wrestler. I am not going to let anyone or anything stand in my way. If Tessa gets in my way, I will have to handle her.

On how she is going to respond to the repeated attacks from Blanchard?

KH: Well, obviously Tessa has been trying to get the last word. She obviously doesn’t understand I am going to get the last word. That’s it. She isn’t going to continue to run me into the ground and be a bully. This Thursday we are going to handle this, and we are going to handle this in the ring. Hopefully, that will end it but if it doesn’t we can keep going. I have no problem with that.

On how closely she is watching the issue between Su Yung and Allie

KH: I have been very closely watching what happens with Allie and Su Yung. Allie is one of the first people to help me when I got to Impact. I hope Allie can get through this and I know it’s a lot. With everything that is happening with Rosemary as well, I know it’s hard. I feel like Allie is so strong now. I have no doubt she will get through this.

On what it’s like backstage with Eddie Edwards and Sami Callahan:

KM: It’s been very tense. I was backstage when the thing happened with the baseball bat. I can’t even describe what it was like. The entire backstage area went silent. After it happened, Edwards was such a trooper. The next day Edwards was back and ready to work. oVe and Sami will do anything to anyone. I feel like no Edwards has one up on Sami. Edwards is going from place to place to get his hands on Sami. Edwards is ready to end Sami.
