As noted, Chris Jericho returned to NJPW during Wrestling Dontaku and attacked Tetsuya Naito. Y2J donned a Los Ingobernables de Japon mask while posing as a fan, and then emerged through the crowd to attack Tetsuya Naito after his match against the team of Suzuki-gun. After this incident, Tetsuya Naito gave a chilling backstage interview with his face dripping with blood.
“That was a little much (sic). That was quite the statement to send (to) Naito Tetsuya. Well, I don’t know too much about him… He’s one of the most famous wrestlers in the world, huh? I guess one of the most famous wrestlers in the world can’t get Tetsuya Naito out of his head? You just proved to everyone how valuable I really am.”
