The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that New Japan Pro Wrestling saw disappointing first day ticket sales for its July 7th event at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. The show was not an instant-sellout, selling only 3,330. While NJPW sold out their second Long Beach show in an arena that seats 4,700, their transition to a 10,000 seat arena in a new market didn’t go as smoothly. The report also notes that there was a bit of a fail with Ticketmaster not making the best seats available immediately to the first people who clicked on them, which likely hurt the sales numbers as well. There were also around 1,000 seats not available because they were being held for New Japan Fan Club members in Japan.
