Reigns vs Lesnar Reportedly Ends In “Botched Finish”
The Greatest Royal Rumble’s Universal Championship Steel Cage Match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns ended in confusion, as the commentary team scrambled to determine whose feet hit the floor first. When it was clear that Roman Reigns’ feet hit the floor before Brock Lesnar’s, the commentary team quickly changed their tune claiming the winner of the match would be the individual who exited the structure first. Since Lesnar exited the cage first, as a victim of a Roman Reigns’ Spear, he would be declared the winner and retain his Universal Championship. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer believes the finish to the match was “botched” and tweeted the following:
Feet have to hit fist, roman's feet hit first, they botched the finish.
