On the most recent episode of Dinner with the King, Jerry Lawler offered more details on his recent stroke and downplayed the idea that sex may have been its cause.
“It didn’t happen actually basically while having sex. The stroke happened because I hadn’t been taking my blood pressure medicine for about a month. It was going to happen anytime my blood pressure went to a certain level. For most people when they do something they really enjoy or something strenuous their blood pressure goes up. That’s what happened. It was about the blood pressure medicine and not taking it. That’s what the doctors all said. I was not taking the blood pressure medicine. It went too high and it caused a hemorrhage in my brain. My blood pressure was 240 something over 140 something. It was something crazy. Everybody made a big deal about the sex; but, it wasn’t about that.”
Lawler is now back on his medicine, under a cardiologist’s care, and has already seen a reduction in his blood pressure numbers. Readers interested in hearing the entire episode may do so HERE.
