IT’S ON! — UFC confirmed CM Punk will return to the octagon to face Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in Chicago.
Jackson has long been rumored as Punk’s opponent for the event, which takes place at the United Center in Punk’s hometown of Chicago. Last week, Dana White commented on a potential Punk vs Jackson matchup, saying ‘that’s the fight’ they were looking at setting up.
MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani first reported the potential for a Punk/Jackson fight in February. Punk’ second fight comes nearly two years after his debut, a first round loss to Mickey Gall at UFC 203 in September 2016.
