We cut to a “Coleman’s Pulpit” segment. He plugs that he has Jay Lethal on today’s show. Lethal expresses his distaste for Coleman’s segment and says he’s only on here because ROH asked him to be. He’s only got two questions so make them good. Coleman starts off by saying Lethal lost the ROH Title in 2016, claimed that he would regain it in 2017. Is that his goal in 2018? Jay says his goals are none of Caprice’s concern. He’s beaten guys only Coleman can dream of. Jay Briscoe was undefeated for two years until he beat him, and he’d do everything again (the good and the bad) because the ROH World Championship means so much to him. Caprice says he was there when Lethal lost the title and it touched him. Lethal takes exception and Caprice gets back on track. One more question: Caprice casually dismisses that Lethal wrestled Ric Flair (“nobody cares about that”), Sting (“nobody cares about that”) & Kurt Angle (“that one’s pretty cool”.)  Caprice starts a question that Jay “dating A.J. – “ until Lethal ends the interview.

Really entertaining. Caprice is great in his instigator role and Lethal looked real perturbed with that instigation. Coleman’s facial expressions are top-notch comedy and his throwing away questions about Flair, Sting and Angle was wrestling comedy gold.

Next up is a promo from Kazarian & Daniels. Hiromu Takahashi was once fighting with the two. He got the rub from Daniels and Kazarian. But now he brings a stuffed cat to the ring. Kaz says after he beats him he’s going to tear Daryl apart.

MATCH 2: Caprice Coleman vs. Jay Lethal

Caprice attacks Lethal from behind and the two begin trading punches on the outside. Lethal gives Coleman a suplex on the floor. Fight continues on the floor with some some very crisp knife edge chops. Lethal delivers a jackhammer to Coleman on the outside. Lethal goes to throw him into the post but he spins it around into a baseball slide around the post. Still fighting on the floor after four minutes. Really cool enziguri spot by the two. Lethal attempts a suicide dive to the outside but Caprice moves and Lethal readjusts. Action briefly goes inside as Lethal does the patented Jericho turnbuckle dropkick to send Caprice back to the floor. Lethal then hits the suicide dive finally before we cut to break.

Back to the action and we’re back in the ring. Lethal eventually hits a flying calf kick for a two count.  Caprice hits a throat chop then an STO for a one count. Colt bashes Caprice for trying to get ratings with trying to dig dirt into his interviews. Lethal hits four knife-edge chops before attempting a handspring back elbow, but Caprice catches him into a Cobra Clutch and Russian Leg Sweeping him into a modified crossface. Lethal finally escapes but Caprice hits a snapmare cutter for two.  The two trade more chops in the corner, but Caprice stifles it with a thumb to the eye. Lethal gets Caprice in the torture rack, but another thumb to the eye stops the attempt. Coleman goes for a jumping roundhouse but Lethal ducks and takes the opportunity to hit his Lethal Injection handspring cutter good for the win.

Winner: Jay Lethal via pinfall at 9:00

Another unique match. Caprice and Jay starting it out for the first four minutes on the outside helped make this pop. Mix in Coleman’s wrestling and martial arts offense and it was a recipe for a real memorable contest. The dismissive body language Lethal displayed after winning was really good too. Great bout. Coleman has shown he’s a stand-out talent.
