Paige announced her retirement in the same building that she made her WWE debut.
Following the match on WWE RAW between Mandy Rose and Sasha Banks, Paige went in the ring and talked about how important and special her career has been to her. Paige talked about seeing Daniel Bryan’s return at Wrestlemania 34 giving her hope, but she said unfortunately due to neck injuries, she could no longer perform as an in-ring competitor.
Paige said she made her debut in the same venue four years ago and won the Divas title, but this is where she also announces her retirement from in-ring competition.
Paige had spent much of 2016-17 on the injured list due to her neck issues; she was cleared for a return to the ring last year but ended up getting reinjured at a December live event. She retires as a two-time WWE Divas Champion and the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion.
