AJ Styles recently spoke with the In This Corner podcast; you can read a few transcribed highlights (credit to Bill Pritchard for Wrestlezone.com) and listen to the show below:

Styles comments on how people will enjoy the match whether they know about this history with Nakamura or not, how he compares to Nakamura in style:

Well, I think it’s going to be an exciting match no doubt about that. It’s one of those matches where you have two guys in there that just put on a good show together. We’ve done it once before, and that’s it. And that’s why it’s so exciting; it’s not watered down and it’s just going to be two guys slugging it out and doing some really cool stuff.

We’re definitely different. Who can compare with Shinsuke Nakamura? He’s different from everybody, but little do most people know, he’ll kick your head off. This guy’s the real deal. He’s not slacking in that department when it comes to excitement. We’re just so different, and I think it’s a good thing. Opposites attract, and the same is in the ring. It’s going to be exciting.

Styles on when he knew a match with Nakamura was possible at Wrestlemania:

I think it was about a month out where I thought that this was a possibility. It was talked about with guys that have the ability to listen and make things happen. I didn’t know —the opportunity was there—I just thought that despite whether people are into the match or not, the WWE Universe is going to watch. But I feel like the world would like to see this match again, so I feel like it was a great opportunity to bring in more subscribers and at the same time put on an unbelievable match.

Does Styles think he left anything on the table in his first match with Nakamura?

No, I thought it was a great match, the first go around. I think that was everything most fans expected in Japan. It was great, and I think we can do even better than that. We can tear the house down, I really believe that. Once we get in the ring things will just start happening like ‘Wow! I’ve never seen them do that before’. Just little things, like that’s my idea, I’m just hoping it comes to fruition.
