John Cena is attached to a new Duke Nukem movie and will play the titular character, according to a new interview with the movie’s producers.
CinemaBlend recently spoke with producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, and Form comfirmed rumors of Cena’s involvement, saying the WWE Superstar is currently attached to the project:
Yeah, that’s what we’re working with now. He is. Yes. We don’t have a script yet, so that is confirmed at this point but if he reads the script and he doesn’t like the script I’m sure there’s ways that he could pull out, but right now he’s our guy.
This is the second new film Cena has been confirmed for; earlier today he was announced for a new ‘Dr. Doolittle’ adaptation starring Robert Downey Jr.
The Hollywood Reporter first mentioned Cena’s name for the Duke Nukem film in January. According to that report, Platinum Dunes is set to produce the movie for Paramount Pictures.
