The Very Latest On A Possible WWE Return For Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio’s talks with WWE aren’t entirely done just yet, as he is reportedly set to have his injured bicep evaluated before continuing talks with the company.

PWInsider.com is reporting Mysterio will travel to Birmingham, Alabama this week to have his partially torn bicep examined before attempting to sign a new WWE deal. Despite being announced as a co-owner of the Aro Lucha promotion, WWE was said to be moving forward with plans to discuss a new deal with Mysterio about a potential return.

As of now, Mysterio is still being advertised for this weekend’s New Japan Pro Wrestling “Strong Style Evolved” live in Long Beach, where he is scheduled to face off with Jushin “Thunder” Liger.

Update: Mysterio was pulled from this weekend’s match after the publication of this article, and his replacement has been announced.

More serious injuries that require surgery usually take 4-6 months to heal, but partial tears of this type usually take 3-6 weeks to heal. Since Mysterio’s injury occurred a little more than two weeks ago, it wouldn’t be out of the possibility to see him get a good prognosis, or return to action in the near future.
