Josh Mathews is not only Matt Sydal’s mystery spirit guide… but he has apparently become the new Impact Grand Champion.
Sydal came to the ring and hyped up the reveal, then Josh came to the ring and the crowd started chanting ‘Fire Mathews’ at him. Mathews says he tried to enlighten the fans for too long, but now he’s showing Sydal the way. He says the crowd should attempt to center their chi like them, and Mathews brags about Sydal sitting under the learning tree. He says he has a gift for Sydal, and Sydal opens a box and reveals a spirit animal mask. Sydal calls Mathews his true spirit guide, then gifts Mathews the Grand Championship. Mathews thanks him and says he cherishes the light in him, then they both pose in the ring as the crowd boos them.
