On getting to work alongside fellow wrestling minds like Jimmy Jacobs and Austin Aries right now in Impact:
SC: Look at this. Impact is finally starting to live up to it’s potential. Back in the day they used to have the Wednesday PPVs. I used to get those Wednesday PPVs every Wednesday because I believed in TNA. TNA became that true alternative. TNA launched the careers of so many people and now other people want to just throw them in the trash and talk crap about it and forget everything it’s done.
Sure, TNA got in a dark place for awhile but now they have their eyes clear and are climbing that ladder back to where they can be again. Under the control of people like Scott D’Amore, Don Callis, Sonjay Dutt and Jimmy Jacobs they are all amazing people and they want to be different. It’s not just about being about being a rival promotion with different people. It’s not just about not being WWE. It’s everything else. Everyone should be working together to be the true alternative. That is what Impact is doing. They are bridging the gap with so many companies, giving those companies exposure and using great talent like Austin Aries.
Aries didn’t get the attention he deserved in WWE and now, to have him back at Impact, as the World Champion that is the perfect guy to lead us into the future. John Morrison, Moose, myself, Jake & Dave Crist, Matt Sydal, Eddie Edwards, LAX… the list goes on and on and on. Impact has a great roster right now and because they are actually pulling the handcuffs off, letting people be themselves and letting people truly try to change wrestling that is why the viewership is up.
Sure, I like to call myself “the draw” but it’s a group effort. I couldn’t do what I do without the talent. I couldn’t do what I do if it wasn’t for the videos and graphics that Impact is doing.
There is one thing that separates me from everyone else and that is that I am looking out for myself. I want to see Impact Wrestling do better but I want to be “the guy”. I want to be the draw and unless someone tells me otherwise that is the direction I am going.
