PWInsider.com is reporting Rey Mysterio will have his arm evaluated today to determine how much damage was sustained during his recent appearance for Northeast Wrestling.
According to the report, Mysterio is believed to have a torn bicep, and likely occurred during the final moments of Friday night’s match that saw him team with Flip Gordon against Joey Mercury and Caleb Konley.
Rey Mysterio Suffers Apparent Injury During Match For Northeast Wrestling
The live report from PWInsider.com’s Paul Crockett noted Mysterio finished the match, picking up the win with a 619 and a top rope splash. Mysterio’s arm was said to be swollen, but he wasn’t favoring it where he gave away an injury, and rushed to leave the venue after the match.
PWInsider.com also noted Mysterio was originally scheduled to meet with Triple H before the NEW event about contract terms for a WWE return. HHH later postponed the meeting after he was called to Saudi Arabia to finalize a ten-year deal for live events in the country.
Mysterio’s WWE status appears to be up in the air due to the injury; he is still scheduled to face Jushin Liger at “Strong Style Evolved” in Long Beach this month, but that appears to be in jeopardy as well.
