New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor present Honor Rising. Both nights will see The Golden Lovers (Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega) reunite to take on The Bullet Club. Hirooki Goto will be putting his NEVER Openweight Championship against Beer City Bruiser. All of the stars of NJPW & ROH are set to be in action. The first night will be broadcast LIVE from Korakuen Hall at 4:30am EST on NJPWWorld.
FIRST MATCH: Toa Henare & Katsuya Kitamura vs. Bullet Club (Yujiro Takahashi & Bad Luck Fale)
Kitamura and Takahashi start. Yujiro blindsides Katsuya with a Mongolian Chop but it barely affects Kitamura. A gut kick and a series of shoulder blocks fail to fell the muscular Young Lion. Kitamura floors Yujiro and Fale tags in.
Both men exchange shoulder blocks but can’t take each other down. Kitamura tackles Fale, sending Fale to his knees but Fale fights back. Kitamura is thrown to the outside and everyone brawls. Fale whips Kitamura into the barricade and then rolls him back into the ring. Yujiro tags in and gets in a few cheap punches to Kitamura’s face. Thumb to the eyes is followed by a snapmare/leg drop combo from Yujiro for two.
Fale is in and bodyslams Kitamura. He sits on him but only gets a two count.
Thrust kick from Yujiro and Yujiro ties up Kitamura in the ropes, where he hits a Yakuza Kick. Yujiro goes for a Fisherman’s Buster but Kitamura reverses and tags in Henare. Henare comes in with some serious fire and, after a criss-cross, he floors Yujiro and hits a dive for two.
Yujiro gets Henare to his knees and hits a dropkick. Fale tags in and goes for a running splash in the corner but Henare reverses and tags Kitamura. Henare hits a corner splash and Kitamura hits a Spear but Yujiro breaks up the following pinfall.
Kitamura hits forearms and then a chop and then attempts a Jackhammer. After two lifts, Henare chops him some more. Kitamura goes off the ropes where he eats a lariat from Fale that gets two.
Fale hits the Grenade for the pinfall.
WINNERS: Bullet Club
SECOND MATCH: Cheeseburger, Delirious & Jushin “Thunder” Liger vs. Bullet Club (Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa & HIKULEO)
Delirious and HIKULEO start but Delirious does a lap around the ring first. Delirious chops HIKULEO and then tags in Liger, who also chops HIKULEO. Cheeseburger tags in and chops HIKULEO. Cheeseburger ducks a clothesline and hits a dropkick to HIKULEO’s leg but Leo drops him with a fist. Liger tags in but can’t get in any impactful offense against HIKULEO. HIKULEO dominates Liger in the corner.
Tanga Loa tags in and pummels Liger. Loa hits a one handed Scoop Slam. Loa hits leg drop for two. Delirious tosses his ring jacket in the ring, but Tanga Loa uses it to blind Liger as he pounds his face with his fists. Tama Tonga tags in and chokes Liger on the ropes. Liger ends up out of the ring and HIKULEO throws him into the barricade.
Back in the ring and Tama unleashes a flurry of strikes on Liger. HIKULEO tags in and dominates Liger, choking him in the corner. Tama Tonga tags in and clears the babyface apron. Tama Tonga accidentally hits HIKULEO with a forearm. Liger hits Tama with a Shotei Palm Strike. Cheeseburger tags in and goes for a Springboard Crossbody, but is caught by Tama. Cheeseburger ducks attacks from all of the three Tongans and reverses a big move for a two count. Tama hits the Tongan Twist and tags in HIKULEO. Delirious tags in and bounces off all of the ropes. Delirious goes for a clothesline but HIKULEO hits a complete shot for two. HIKULEO goes for a Samoan Drop but Delirious reverses into a Shotei-assisted Sunset Flip for the pinfall.
WINNERS: Delirious, Cheeseburger & Jushin “Thunder” Liger.
