As noted moments ago, WWE has confirmed they will move back to a dual brand pay-per-view event calendar starting with the WWE Backlash event this May.
The following is the official pay-per-view schedule confirmed by WWE (with venues / cities also confirmed):

The following changes have been made to the event calendar, per a report originally issued by PWInsider.com that had previously confirmed dates and venues for the 2018 WWE PPV calendar:
- WWE Payback, originally scheduled for May 27th in Baltimore has been cancelled
- WWE Battleground, originally scheduled for July 15th in Pittsburgh, has been replaced by Extreme Rules
- Extreme Rules, originally scheduled for September 16th in San Antonio, has been replaced by Hell In A Cell
- Hell In A Cell was originally scheduled for September 30th in Nashville; that date has been removed
- WWE No Mercy has been dropped
- WWE Great Balls Of Fire has been dropped
