According to a recent interview with former steroid dealer Richard Rodriguez, WWE star Roman Reigns was one of his alleged former clients.
The interview is featured on a YouTube video posted by documentary filmmaker Jonny Bravo, and Rodriguez names Reigns, Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel as some of his clients. Reigns’ name is mentioned around the four minute mark of the interview; Rodriguez stated (transcription credit: Wrestlezone.com):
…this is something that not just affected me, but the lives of several people. It’s a very profitable franchise, a lot of business relationships have been tarnished because of this, and at the end, I’m just trying to clear my name and make people aware that there’s a lot more people out there that were involved, many that associated with my company that were not known.
One of them in particular is a very famous wrestler by the name of Roman Reigns. He was originally introduced to me by one of the informants, which I’ve probably heard his name in the past due to numerous videos that Jonny Bravo has done, and also some including myself on my own channel. He is a very down to earth person, however, a situation involved in which… often times when you are brought to trials, which I was not, I decided to take a plea, they disclose discovery. One part of the discovery is called tried and true statements, which is basically disclosing everybody who the investigators or people who were investigating you have spoken to, with regards to your company, to you, with regards to any other co-defendants associated with the indictment. So that’s one of the reasons I disclosed him.
Rodriguez did not mention a timeframe for when Reigns would have allegedly been in contact with him; Rodriguez is the former Iron Addicts Gym owner in Miami that was arrested last February in a DEA raid.
Reigns was suspended by WWE for violating the company’s Wellness Policy in 2016, but that was reportedly due to taking Adderall, not steroids.
