WWE NXT Results (11/15) Moon Clashes With Martinez, Almas and McIntyre Face-off, Final Hype For Takeover War Games!

In Ring Segment: Drew McIntyre

McIntyre congratulates Almas because it is always a good thing when a plan comes together. Well, it was Zelina Vega’s plan, not Almas’, but still congratulations. It’s one thing to ask for the opportunity but once reality sets in that’s when you find out what kind of man you really are. It’s clear what kind of man McIntyre is. Vega has been talking about success and mountains. Vega’s client is going to find out when he steps into the ring with McIntyre that McIntyre IS the mountain. McIntyre demands that Almas comes out to the ring and face him. Unless Vega isn’t going to let him off the leash for the night.

Vega and Almas come out on the stage. Almas and McIntyre start to brawl. McIntyre gets the upper hand. Vega dives off the top but McIntyre catches her. McIntyre puts Vega down and asks her what she thinks she is doing. Almas chop blocks McIntyre. Almas drops McIntyre with the hammerlock DDT. Vega holds up the NXT title.

I have to be honest, so far the build to this NXT title match has not been particularly entertaining or interesting. The pairing of Vega and Almas makes perfect sense but McIntyre just flat out isn’t convincing as the conquering babyface. McIntyre plays better as a heel, always has. Since we haven’t seen these two match up in the ring it makes sense to reserve judgment on how good their match could potentially be… but what’s the fun in that? This match has disaster written all over it. Hopefully, I am wrong.
