Backstage Interview: Drew McIntyre
McIntyre says being NXT Champion has been his dream for a long time. It hasn’t been an easy road. McIntyre goes into how he was released from his dream job in the WWE a few years back. Somewhere along the line, he lost his way and himself. His fire came back the day he was released. McIntyre knew when he looked in wife’s eyes what he had to do to get back where he wanted to be. Zelina Vega interrupts and takes over the interview. Vega tells McIntyre that he and Andrade “Cien” Almas have similar stories. Almas was going downhill until she saved him. Vega asks McIntyre why he has been avoiding Almas. McIntyre says he knows what Vega is trying to do but there is no point. If Almas wants a shot all she has to do is go to Regal and ask for it. McIntyre will fight anyone, anywhere. Vega says with Regal the champion has all the pull. If McIntyre wanted the match he could make it happen. McIntyre lets Vega know that if Almas really wants a shot maybe he should come ask for it himself instead of sending his business partner to do it for him.
