MAIN EVENT: IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada vs. EVIL.
EVIL is brought to the ring on a giant throne, with druids.
A truly back and forth contest. EVIL’s offense in the first half of the match was mirrored by Okada in the back half of the match. Both men get devastating f;urries of offense over the course of a marathon. Okada’s title never felt truly in peril in the build to this match, but EVIL proved that he is a main event talent. So powerful was his offense, and so close were the near falls, that by the end of the match, EVIL walking into Tokyo Dome with the belt felt beyond believable.
After every move in each man’s arsenal, Okada finally hit Rainmaker to win the match, and pass Shinya Hashimoto as the longest reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
