WWE Smackdown Results (9/19): Shane McMahon Returns to Confront Kevin Owens, Rusev Crushes Orton, Women’s 4-Way Main Event

The New Day vs. The Hype Bros

It’ll be Kofi Kingston and Big E going for the champions as the Usos take their place at the commentary table. Mojo goes right after the big man and they trade body stretches. Big E gets mad because Mojo tried to mock the New Day chant by slapping on his back. The challengers took control during the commercial break, isolating Kofi and picking him apart with quick tags and mat-based offense. Mojo got a bit too excited and went shoulder-first into the ring post, giving Kofi the room he needed to make the hot tag. Big E came in like a house of fire, taking out both challengers with strong power moves. Ryder caught him with a dropkick off the second rope and hit the Broski Boot, but Kofi made the save for his team. Mojo tried to even the odds but got sent to the floor, and Kingston cleared the ropes with a tremendous dive to take him out. The New Day hit the Midnight Hour to get the pin.

Winners: The New Day

The trio mocked The Usos on commentary as Xavier Woods played trombone and they danced ridiculously. We will get the final match in their excellent series in just three weeks at Hell in a Cell.

Pre-Tape Segment

Kevin Owens joins us live via satellite. The self-proclaimed Face of America started things out by apologizing to the WWE Universe and to the McMahon family, after watching back the footage of what he did last week. He then said Shane had it coming, because he made all this happen. Owens claimed that it was Shane’s fault that his father got beaten senseless and left a broken and bloody mess. He issued one last apology to everyone who watches Hell in a Cell, because what happened to Mr. McMahon is nothing in comparison to what Shane will face inside the devil’s playground in three weeks.
