WWE Smackdown Results (8/22): Glorious Debut, Golden Return, Kevin Owens’ Final Chance at the US Title, Nakamura in Action, More

Backstage Segment

Daniel Bryan was in his office talking on his cell phone. Does he actually do any work on Tuesday nights, because he’s literally always on his phone talking to someone at the start of every single segment. The Singh brothers introduced WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, who called himself an unstoppable champion. Bryan said he looked like a champion that can’t win without constant interference from his goons. Jinder basically called him a racist for pointing out the obvious, and Bryan booked the Singh brothers in a handicap match with Shinsuke Nakamura tonight.

Backstage Segment

Kevin Owens approached Sami Zayn backstage and asked him to put aside everything between them in the past, and be the special guest referee for tonight’s title match. Sami said that they’ve been fighting for so long that he’s almost forgot what they’re fighting about. Owens asked him to think about it, since he obviously isn’t doing anything else on Smackdown these days.
