WWE Smackdown Results (8/15): John Cena vs Jinder Mahal, Nakamura Prepares For SummerSlam, Fashion Peaks Season Finale

Fashion Peaks Season Finale

That’s right, it’s the final episode of Fashion Peaks. The bulletin board this week has a picture of Fake Diesel and Fake Razor Ramon, and a picture of Bob Backlund that just said “Wow Bob”. Fandango talked to his recorder about being abducted by aliens and probed. Breeze showed up wearing a blonde wig but wouldn’t eat any cookies because of diabetes. Fandango threw a “time rock” that the aliens left in his “back pocket” and hit one of the Ascension members. The Ascension returned a pie they said was terrible, before Viktor started screaming about them being gluten free. Fandango sorted through all the weird contents in the pie including a used bandaid and a note. They looked into space and said “oh no, it’s happening again.” Apparently the whole tag team division is in danger. The scene faded to black with a graphic that said “Fandango Will Return in 25 Years” but it changed to “In Two Weeks” which got a big pop from the crowd.

John Cena vs. Jinder Mahal

The crowd kicked in with dueling “lets go Cena – Cena sucks” chants as soon as the bell rang. They started with a traditional lockup to put over how strong Jinder is, with Cena powering back. The champion socked him with a blatant closed fist and the Singh brothers attacked Cena as the referee was yelling at him. After a commercial break Cena struggled back out of a rest hold and connected with a spinout powerbomb. The Singh brothers dragged Jinder out of the ring and went after the 16-time champion as the ref was once again distracted, but he saw it and ejected the duo from ringside. Mahal freaked out about it and turned around into the STF, but was able to make his way to the bottom rope. He had the AA scouted and hit a running knee but only picked up a two-count. Jinder looked to put things away but Cena fought out of it and hit the Attitude Adjustment! 1…2…Mahal got his shoulder up just in time. John had a smirk on his face after initially not being able to believe he didn’t win, and took Jinder to the top rope, slamming him down with a huge Super AA. Baron Corbin came out of nowhere and leveled Cena with his Money in the Bank briefcase to end the match.

Winner by DQ: John Cena
