WrestleZone proudly presented the latest episode of our signature daily pro wrestling news podcast, WZ Daily, earlier today. It featured the full audio from the latest GFW Media Call featuring GFW Women’s Champion Sienna, Karen Jarrett and Laurel Von Ness.
You can find some highlights from it transcribed below.
Karen’s thoughts on the recent loud bar incident recently between her and Braun Strowman:
KJ: Oh my goodness, I can clear the air. It was a silly incident where you have two people in the wrestling business playing their characters. Being silly and it got blown way out of proportion.
Karen’s comments about the current legal battle between Anthem and The Hardys over the Broken Universe:
KJ: I would love to see a resolution but there are always two sides to a story and facts to a story. There is a lot going on behind the scenes and things aren’t always what they seem to be. Commenting on it I don’t think is productive in any way shape or form right now. I think the best thing to do is let the attorneys handle it. I am taking the high road and trying to be as mature as possible as it concerns the entire situation.
Sienna’s thoughts on the word “Knockout” still being used to describe women in GFW:
Sienna: It drives me crazy. Right now there is a lot of psudo-feminism going on with fans where they think they need to jump on board of women’s rights when really they are telling us what we should and should not be offended by. Being the Knockouts Champion I can tell you I have zero problem with the name Knockouts. Knockout never had the negative connotation that “Diva” did. I know they got rid of that in favor of a “women’s division” but it’s because that name had a negative connotation for years. Knockouts have never had a negative connotation with the name Knockout. It’s cool that the name has a double meaning because, yeah, we’re Knockouts and we’re sexy but we’re also Knockouts because we can knock you out. I have zero issue with that. I don’t feel like just because another company changes their name we do too. We are doing our own thing.
Laurel on her WWE boyfriend Zack Ryder’s thoughts on her current character and how they handle working for different promotions:
LVN: We call it the “Interpromotional Relationship”. He loves the character and he thinks it’s absolutely ridiculous. He absolutely loves screen shooting pictures of me being crazy and sending them to me. It’s kind of a running joke that we have every Thursday when I get a new picture of myself where I didn’t know I could look that crazy. On the relationship side of things, it really doesn’t matter what company we work for or even if we’re both wrestlers. At the end of the day when we come home we don’t take work home with us. We talk about normal things like what kind of flowers we are going to plant in the garden or what tile we are going to put in the kitchen. When we are sitting at the dinner table we aren’t talking about what spots we can do in our next match. Surprisingly, I think you would be very bored if you sat with us and listened to our conversations.
