Ryback Says WWE Leaks Match Plans to Gauge Fan Interest, Addresses Recent Dana Warrior Claim, New SummerSlam Matches Teased

Ryback Says WWE Leaks Match Plans to Gauge Fan Interest

As noted, former WWE star Ryback claimed on a recent episode of his “Conversations with the Big Guy” podcast that there were plans in place at one point for Ryback to face The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania. Ryback had the following to say on the match plan:

“Mark Carrano actually had showed me the WrestleMania card early. They kind of have an idea of what they want to do, obviously, ahead of time, and they had on it Ryback versus Ultimate Warrior. And I just said, ‘cool.’ But, in my head, at the time, it was during my heel deal, that first one, where it probably wasn’t gonna be a favorable position for me as far as all that. But I was excited, because I figured it was his one last moment in WWE. So, I thought it would be really cool. I didn’t think I would necessarily be the right guy for that, because I didn’t know anything about him. I didn’t know what kind of shape he was in, if he could wrestle or not, but I 100 percent would have done it, because I did everything that they asked me there.”

Following the podcast comments, Warrior’s wife Dana Warrior denied Ryback’s claim, and added “it always saddens me when people tell untruths on a man’s grave to promote their lives.”

In the latest edition of “Conversations with the Big Guy”, which you can listen to at this link, Ryback claims WWE often times leaks out match ideas to gauge fan interest in possible PPV bouts. Ryback added the following, with an H/T to Peter Bahi for the transcription:

“[WWE does] this sort of thing all the time. With all the access that they have, and there were multiple articles about the idea of that match, and all we did was discuss the possibility of that match happening and I shared the truth of a sheet that was shown months ahead of time.”

Ryback also responded to Dana Warrior calling him a liar with the following comment:

“One thing that really upset me about that in regards to the graveside and using [Ultimate Warrior’s] name in vain – it’s not making me any money to talk about that – I’m not using his image and likeness on my supplements to make me money, you know what I mean? So I don’t understand where she is coming from where she is attacking me.”
